Hi! My name is Erin.
I am excited about food. I love cooking, baking, food shopping and learning new techniques. I am the Director of Operations at Rosemont Market and Bakery. I had been their kitchen manager for 11 years and now I oversee the kitchen, bakery, and our purchasing division. I have cooked and baked professionally for 19 + years and also grow a pretty decent vegetable garden in my spare time. I live with my husband Evan and our incredibly cute dog in Maine.
I graduated from Vermont College of Norwich University with a focus in holistic health practices. All through college, I worked in a bakery thinking after graduation I would move on. I found I really loved what I was doing in the bakery and have been working in the same kitchen since.
I always have a grand food project or two in mind that doesn’t seem to fit with what we do at Rosemont. I want to keep learning and challenging myself. This blog allows me to share my creative culinary adventures. Bear with me! I am taking my own photos and learning photography and web design skills as I go.
There are a few things you will never see on this blog including dried thyme and rosemary (ick!) and peppercorn crusted steak. Other than that, I love pretty much all foods (especially sandwiches). Baking is my calling, but I make a variety of things at home and at work.
I was once on Food Network’s $40 a Day preparing the brownies that we still make in the bakery. I developed dessert recipes for Allagash Brewing Company and also have had recipes published in local newspapers.
